A 2nd successful BBQ, email raffle drawn, Anglicare receives donations
Finally we held our second BBQ today. The rain stayed away, and we managed to sell over 500 sausages between about 11-1. we even ran out of bread towards the end, probably due to the butcher not actually counting out the suasages, or not counting the little half ones that do occur when you make that many. luckily some hungry group bought the last of our sausages in the tray. we made about $550. However, it does look like we will be having to pick up the shipping tab for the merchandise and swag for Perth’s cancelled event, which is not much less than that (don’t EVER ship UPS international) This is good and bad. It means our donation goes down. BUT we’ve decided to hold 2 more bbqs, at dates to be decided later (but hopefully within the next 6 weeks) so we still get in our 3 BBQs and make our goal of $3200, doubling last years total. It also means that i now have a bunch of 2008 tshirts and posters. if you missed one, and you want to buy one, email me or drop a comment at the bottom of this page. It also means we are likely to auction off some of the swag on ebay, but well send round emails about that when it happens.
Anglicare Salisbury were extremely grateful last week to receive a number of boxes filled with food and warm clothing. With the weather being so wet and cold the last few weeks, I’m sure they will find a way to help keep Adelaide’s less fortunate warm and fed with our donation.
By now, the 2 winners of the email raffle should have received their prizes. one received a serenity visual companion, and the other a firefly episode guide.
